What's going on in our bedroom...

Get your mind out of the gutter, this post is about, of course, the design of our bedroom...or lack thereof. We literally haven't done anything in there design wise, except paint an accent wall (which I'm completely over btw, but might stay anyways, purely because of laziness). Our bedroom is actually pretty large (I think it's 20' x 20'), but none of the furniture reflects the size. The scale is all off, the window treatments are terrible, and its just a plain yawn. The other day we were watching a movie and Race said...and I quote..."You did a great job on the living room, but why haven't you done anything to the bedroom?"...good question from the hubs, but the simplest answer is I feel no pressure because we're the only ones that see it. This horrible design attitude resulted in a boring bedroom that looks something like this...

The quality of this picture is REALLY bad, with obviously no styling done (no those cords laying by the bed are not for styling purposes, nor are the panels supposed to hang crooked) but the room itself is pretty terrible too, so oh well...Yikes, did I really just post this on a design depressing..There's actually more to the room, but it's just as bad and makes me feel like this...

See, this is what I love about the internet, you can type in crazy lady in google images and this picture pops up...The good news is this blog has inspired me to do something about it. (And hopefully having a pretty bedroom will inspire me to keep our bedroom a little neater too). I want something cozy and warm, for sure, but also something that reflects our personalities. I'm thinking some warm neutral tones, with green accents (so it will connect to the rest of the house's subtle green moments, but still have it's own personality). I've found some inspiration on where else but pinterest....Here's what I'm thinking...

And now because we all love lists...oh, maybe that's just me...a probably never ending list of things that need to be accomplished in this space..
  1. New headboard
  2. Nightstands
  3. Something for the end of bed (maybe a place to sit and put my shoes on)
  4. Some art or something to break up the boring walls in this space
  5. A new mirror
  6. Upgrade to a king sized bed (my husbands not a small guy)
  7. Add some style
Hopefully, I'll have somewhat of a moodboard up soon, along with a reupholstered headboard, and a couple other DIY projects...if I don't fall off the face of the blogging earth again....

25 in 25

I've never done a link-up before, so I'm not 100% sure on the protocal, but here it is anyways....I turn 25 in a little over a month. ...I found this originally over on Life of Annie G and it looks like she found it at Living in Yellow...I was excited about this because I am definitely a goal oriented gal, and I love that this will hopefully keep me accountable. So here's my 25 in 25, basically, a list of 25 things I want to do in my 25th year of life!
1. Join a wine club...on a recent vacation we went to a wine tasting, and really enjoyed ourselves. A goal for this year is to join a wine club, where we can learn about different wines and enjoy some tastings.

2. Have a date night once a week....We don't have kids, but somehow, still rarely have time to go out on the town just us.
3. Go on a spontaneous trip...I mean literally pack a bag and leave Friday night, and go wherever the wind takes us.
4. Decide whether this is the year we will start a family.
5. Expand my design services, whether this means into a full service design business, or expanding this blog.
6. Learn to really cook...This might mean taking a class, or just simply teaching myself. Also, learning to cook healthy and for only 2.
7. Get organized, especially our ridiculously cluttered attic. This is huge for me because I am not a naturally organized person. In fact, I am a generally messy person, which for whatever reason usually surprises people.
8. Finally decide on, and buy a new car...I am an extremely indecisive person, and have been car shopping for over 6 day I'll decide.
9. Cut my hair...I've had medium to long hair practically my whole life, and have always wanted a shorter cute cut. Something like this maybe...
10. Finally design my bedroom. Our bedroom is uber boring, so look for some posts to come about finally decorating it.
11. Finish my online design classes.
12. Purge...We have too much stuff...I would like to give away/sell/throw out 500 items out of our home. Seems like a lot, but if you think about all the little stuff that we keep in junk drawers and dressers, it will add up fast.
13. Take more pictures...It makes me sad, how little pictures me and Race have compiled over 10 years. We need pictures, from things other than our wedding.
14. Create a budget...and actually stick to it. We recently realized, the ridiculous amounts of money we spend, especially dining out (hopefully #6 will help us with this. ) ...We actually wrote out a budget last night, and I think we will be able to stick to it...
15. Do one random act of kindness a week.
16. Take a stay-cation...We just got back from vacation so this will probably be later in the year, but I would love for both of us to take at least 5 days off of whatever we have going on and just stay home.
17. Totally stole this one from like 5 other blogs..Reach 100 followers on this little blog of mine. I only have 38 now, so if you are a reader, please become a follower!
18. See a broadway show during the holidays...hopefully Wicked again.

19. Go to an apple orchard/pumpkin patch in the fall.
20. Go on a hike...once again in the fall. We use to go hiking at least once a month, but again the weather has kept us from keeping up on this one.
21. Try something new at least one weekend every month, a cool festival or new food maybe...This was my new years resolution, and it lasted about 2 months before I fell off the wagon, so let's try it again.
22. Choose a color and finally paint my front door!
23.Get in shape...I started a healthier lifestyle about 3 months ago, and for the most part I am proud of how well I've done. I've been exercising at least 5 days a week, whether that's a 30 min. walk with the hubby, or an intense workout, and I'd like to keep it up and focus a little more on the quality of these workouts.
24. Design my house freely...I worry too much what people think and would love to learn to design my home  in whatever way I want, without worrying about outsider's opinions.
25. Learn to breathe, enjoy life, and take each day as it comes....easier said than done...
What do you guys want to accomplish this year?
