I've always loved The Nutcracker....to me it just means Christmas is near. I would love to use the traditional wooden nutcracker in my home to decorate for Christmas. The problem is I like my Christmas decorations to match the rest of the house. I'm just never going to be one of those people that can put a giant red Santa and brightly colored ornaments everywhere. So when I saw this:
on one of my favorite blogs 4 Men 1 Lady, I knew I had to make my own. I put this photo in the back of my mind, and kind of forgot about it (I know #winning) until I came across these in Dollar Tree:
ya know, the store where everything is $1...meaning this project cost me $2.....yea...
I did a little hair removal and sprayed them gold (surprise, surprise)..
Yes, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around these parts:
Now, let's hear from you? Are you a red and green only Christmas decorator? Are you like me and make your decorations match the rest of your home? Any totally crazy schemes out there? I want to know!

Love this idea, you're so smart ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks! But as I said above, this one I kind of stole :)
DeleteSo cute, you should seriously consider writing a book (or at least another blog) just about making things fabulous by just using spray paint, seriously I know you say you took this idea, but the rest of your ideas are so clever!
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks so much! Maybe I will someday :)
DeleteOh, my, gosh, these look great. I have some of those nutcrackers in boxes I do not use to decorate with. I am getting them out and doing this. Thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy! and of course :)
DeleteSo cool! I love them, thank you for stopping by our Christmas party :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie! I'm glad to be a part of it :)
DeleteThey look great! For only two dollars, that's awesome! Each year I try to stick to a theme, this year its a blue Christmas, even though little bits of red had popped here and there!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cristina! I love blue in my Christmas decorations too!
