Friday Eye Candy and a Little Blogging Business

This blog not only pays me via advertisers, but also is how I've gotten almost all of my consultation/E-design work., you know all 5 jobs I've had :)....In other words, I consider this blog part of my job (it is basically the reason I have any business at all). In the design world, blogging is second nature, you will rarely find a designer who does not write a blog in some form. Because I hope to do this full time someday and possibly expand my services I provide or work for a firm that provides more services, I promised myself I would start setting blogging goals. The main one being that I would post a minimum of three times a week, which for the most part I've done, and while I was skeptical at first, I am now addicted. I love it, I actually look forward to writing these posts...who would have thought? My other goal was to focus on original posts, mostly about our home on this blog, so that people could see my personal styling/design work, this one I haven't necessarily done great on in the very few weeks I've been at it. There are just so many amazing designers out there, and so many inspiring spaces that I want to share with you. Not to mention, that my decorating budget is quite small (oh what my home would look like if I allowed myself a larger shopping budget) and I'm almost always working with furniture/accessorie/textiles we bought years ago and before our tastes evolved to what they are now. So, in reality my home doesn't reflect my best design work and in our home there's little room for big changes. Because of this I'm giving myself a little leeway. So this blog will not only serve as a place to share my small family's personal design journey, but also where I can share my professional design journey, along with some pretty eye-candy. My final goal was to work on my grammar, and to learn to write as if I really was a paid writer, which in a weird way I am. However, as I'm typing this the page is lighting up like Christmas with little red squiggly lines, so that might be more of an overtime goal :)
Now onto the eye candy...
I am oh so in love with the sliding barn door...Candice Olsen truly is a genius...
If you have time, check out the entire home tour here, or check out her personal blog, Knight Moves , I am completely in love with her home, and although it's more traditional than my personal taste, I totally want to move in...In fact I can picture myself curled up on this sectional with a book right now, while the hubby plays a video game next to me...too far? I've warned you guys about that...
I am lusting over that blue couch...oh someday I will have you and I will love you like you were my own...
I love everything about this room, it is the perfect example of eclectic in my book...
I love the casualness...and if anyone who happens to speak Swedish (I'm guessing) wants to translate those posters I would be grateful because it's kind of bothering me...
EDIT: One of my gracious readers actually e-mailed me the translation..."yes but hand it held you said, could that be not"....."oh said merrily that tickles the feet"....hmmm, now I'm even more confused :) I think we're missing something in that translation...Thanks anyways Erin :)

I will be back next week with two E-designs and more! Happy Friday, make it a beautiful one :)
