The more we discuss a casual dining space in the next house over a formal dining room, the more excited I get. I've long been dreaming of a cozy dining space, with a large dining table pushed up to a cozy sofa/settee. Race needs some convincing, he just imagines future kiddos splattering food, juice, paint...vomit (you know its bound to happen) all over my beautiful new settee, so we'll need to find a happy medium there. I came up with this very quick moodboard (like 10 minutes) of the type of space I'm imagining:
I'm loving green right now, so this green settee is perfect. I love this Zgallerie table. It reminds me of a traditional pedestal table but with a modern edge. And you all know I'm a fan of those metal tub chairs from World Market (that are on sale 50% off right now). This is not the pendant I would want (I really love this one actually), but for the sake of not spending an hour on this little mock up, it was a perfect stand in. And of course my go-to Z Gallerie rug. You'll notice the wall in the background is gray (no surprise there), but it looks textured. I am dying over grasscloth right now...yes I know grasscloth is old news, but it's coming back in so many new ways, textures, and fun colors that I'm dying to hang it in my new dining space..
So how about you guys? Anyone else dream of a cozy sofa in their dining space? Anyone else digging green right now, or completely ready to give grass cloth another chance? Do tell..
Ahhh, I love it! This would be great in a work-space too!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny you should say that Tara, I actually created a mood board (I will share next week hopefully) with a similar set up for a studio space! Check back soon ;)
