So in case you haven't noticed (please, just pretend you noticed, it will make me feel better), I took a little blogging vacation last week. Why? you may ask. Because, I have absolutely nothing to write about. nada. zip. Writer's block, doesn't even begin to describe it. I have no inspiration, no design projects, no sourcing to do, and I can't do much in my own home right now (more on that later this week, hopefully). What does that leave? Lot's of yummy eye candy for you guys, and another little break for me. Hoping, some time away will help recharge me, and get my blogging mind going again. So here's to a good week, and some hopeful inspiration. Cheers...

Brass hardware...
Let's talk about brass hardware for a second, shall we?
I'm completely in love with it. I remember, as a child, I had one of those curved brass headboards, and I hated it so much that I detached it and stuck it in the shed behind my parents house. Now brass hardware has found its way back into my heart and back into the world of design as well. Just check it out:

What do you guys think? Are you hopping on the brass hardware bandwagon or does it just remind you of your ugly childhood headboard?

I'm Lovin' It, July...
Here's what I'm digging in July:
The high-waisted swimsuit
It's no secret that I should of been born in the 70s, so it shouldn't be a surprise that I love the vintage nod, the new high-waisted suits give. Besides, who doesn't want a little bit more coverage out of a bikini.
The Dot and Bo Sunset dipped bowls
How fun would these bowls be at a barbecue? Such a fun splash of brightness on an otherwise boring bowl.
The Republic of Tea, Ginger Peach Iced Tea
This stuff is so yummy and refreshing. Try their blackberry too, it's delish.
Gap's Striped Fold-over maxi skirt
This is the most comfortable skirt you will ever own, and it goes with pretty much anything. Any piece of clothing that can be dressed up or down and is still comfy is a win in my book.
World Market's Hourglass Metal Drum Table
This table has a fantastic unique shape, and the color is so perfect.
Well that's all guys. What about you? What are you digging lately?

Shot through the heart...
I'll just come right out and say it...I don't love flowers...I know, gasp, a wanna-be interior stylist who doesn't like flowers? It's not that I don't like the look of them, because I absolutely do, they add the perfect pop of color and livelihood most rooms need but...they die, they're expensive, and they really only look pretty for about a day. Lately, I've been toying with ideas for styling rooms without flowers. It's not easy, I tell ya. Every space, really needs the height and dimension flowers add to a space. While perusing on Pinterest, I saw this:
I am so obsessed with this idea, I can't stand it. The arrows add the height and depth that flowers in a tall vase give you, but they wont die, and my dog wont attempt to eat them (I don't know why he does this). Plus how fun and whimsical would this be in any space. I've been on a search for vintage arrows for a decent price and good color for a couple months now to no avail, but I WILL find them.
In any case, I think Bon Jovi would be proud...Oh, and you're welcome for getting that song stuck in your head for the rest of the day...

Parade of Homes...
I'm obsessed with open houses....Literally. I will make my husband stop no matter what we are doing to go walk through an open house when I see those beautiful open flags flying. Luckily, I married probably the only guy in the world that loves to look through them too, so it's okay. I love to go online and look at pictures of the Parade of Homes from all over the country and yesterday I stumbled upon 6th Street Design Schools post about the Utah Valley Parade of Homes, and just had to share the pictures that she nabbed from Hiya Papaya's Photography Blog! All the photos sources can be found here and fair warning: there's a lot of them.
I tried using the gray version of this wallpaper in a client's nursery, but we ended up using a stencil that was amazing too because of budgetary reasons. The wallpaper and wood planked alcove add so much texture and dimension to this room, I just want to scream.
How amazing, is this tile...
I just had to share...How about you guys? Anyone else veto the grocery store trip, when they see those open houses?
