Happy Chic...

I'm a big fan of Jonathan Adler...seriously, no one does bright colors and mixed patterns quite like him. So it was no surprise that I jumped for glee when I saw that Jcpenneys was now selling the Happy Chic line by Johnathan Adler, himself. Check it out for yourself, in fact, here's a few of my faves:
This midcentury media stand is fantastic. Clean lines, and the two toned finish add so much to this simple piece.
I'll take three of these please....These two toned candle holders are so simple and add a fun pop of color.
I love unexpected accessories, especially bookends, so these apple bookends are right up my alley and might be the perfect gift for my soon-to-be-teacher little sister.
Love the greek trim and the color.
This navy velvet chair is so pretty I want to pet it. Great color (of course) and great simple lines.
What about you guys? Do you love Johnathan Adler too?

A bright idea...

Let's discuss lighting shall we?
In almost every home we've looked at or every model we've discussed with builders, lighting has been a hot button topic for me. Basically, I don't like builder grade lighting, I also don't like brassy 90's lighting, or pine ceiling fans (yeah that's what is our there people). So, we now realize, whatever house we buy/build we will want to personally choose every piece of lighting in the house. Sounds like a good time to me...the hubby, not so much. Here's some of my faves:

I've written about this aged bronze pendant before...like last week...but that just shows you how much I love it. It's neutral enough to go in any home, but still has some character and vintage nod to it. I am hoping to find a place over a kitchen island or peninsula for these bad boys in our next home.

 via
The Filament Design drum pendant would be perfect over a breakfast area table. It's simple/casual and neutral, but adds a little glam and sophistication to a space.
Perfect in a den or even over your dining table if you want something a little more industrial/casual. Plus at $89, you can't beat the price...man those youngsters know what they're doing.
And then there is the flushmounts...something to replace the horrible boob lights that are in EVERY house in some form or another:
Maybe in a bronze or gold finish?

This is an outdoor flush-mount pendant, but I love the idea of using a pendant flush to the ceiling down a long hallway...and whose going to tell me I can't?
Then there's this one:
I love her...and only imagine her in a future dressing room/large walk in closet or a little girls nursery because it's not really the hubby's taste (I guess that's a good thing, right?)
In any case, we haven't came up with any lighting plans (or any plans period for that matter) for our next home, but these are a few I've been oogling in the meantime. How about you guys? Any other's spend hours on shadesoflight.com this week?

I'm Lovin' It...March

A couple days late, but whatever...Here's what I'm lovin' in March:
These gold/aqua/coral antlers...Ya'll know by now, I love to mix rustic and chicness, and these do it.  I'm pretty sure I need one of these:
Amy over at Eat. Sleep. Decorate. found this $8.00 milk glass bowl at a thrift store and voila an instant jewelry organizer...This definitely has a place in my future dream dressing room...Love it!
These fabric play vegetables...Don't get me wrong, the Ikea and Target play food sets are fine, but usually include a bunch of cardboard ice cream boxes, and play cookies. I love the idea of letting our future kiddos play with these, hopefully inspiring healthier eating habits then we have been lately...They are a little expensive in my opinion, but just look at them:
This canvas Paris illustration:
I'm very drawn to this print. Just in awe....
While we're expecting snow today on the first day of spring, I'm dreaming of warmer weather...So one of my favorites this month is Glace's lavender lemon ice cream...Just go get some, trust me.
And that's it...That's all there is. What about you? What are you guys diggin' this month?

Guilt

Lately every time I sit down in front of a computer to blog I get an overwhelming feeling that could only be described as guilt. Guilt, because there is a list in the back of my mind of about 1000 things I could be doing instead of blogging. Guilt, because the hubby and I have spent every spare minute we have had doing work on our house or looking at new houses/speaking with builders, so I feel like I should be spending this quality time with him, and want to. Just feeling guilty. I also feel guilty because I don't have any new/original content to share with you guys, and I should. I can't use the excuse that "our house is on the market" forever, because who knows how long this could go on, and I can't get by with my sponsors or readers (nor do I want to) posting 1 or 2 sub-par posts a week. Normally, I have 4 or 5 posts in the vault...ya know saved on blogger...right now I have zilch, nada, cero. I need to find something to share with you guys that isn't just my own projects, because lately there has been none of that going on. So until I get it all figured out, here is some beautiful eye candy....here is what I have been "pinning" lately:
Emily Henderson's newest design
I have been completely obsessed with black and cowhide lately...so this one had me at hello..
Such an interesting space..
Love these windows over a sink...that view doesn't hurt either...
I'm loving this Seville pendant in a deep bronze color...and not too expensive..
So that's it..that's all she wrote..
Oh and thanks for sticking with me, while I get some stuff figured out...like my life....and everything else..And for all you other bloggers, how do you do it? When inspiration or time just isn't there how do you push through? Any tips would be great ;)

Navy schmavy...

I'm not going to lie, lately I've been a little overwhelmed. If it's not selling our house, it's looking for a new one/looking for a lot or builder...and it's getting to me. I can't do any of the DIY projects I had planned for the next couple of months for this ol' blog because I can't hang anything in my house...I don't want to try any of the awesome recipes I've pinned lately because I don't have time to completely reclean my kitchen daily...I feel stuck in a lot of ways right now, and in a weird way I feel like I'm letting you guys down. I can't wait to get back in the swing of things, and hopefully have a whole new house of DIY projects to share with you guys. In the meantime, I do have lots of pretty eye candy/inspiration that I've been oogling. Starting now...
If you had told me years ago how much I would be obsessed with navy blue walls, I would never believe you...alas I am. I can't help it, navy adds so much dimension and moodiness to a room. Absolutely beautiful:
What do you think? Are navy walls for you?
